UNIT: Multi-Unit- CCC and Medical Surgical, Home Base CCC
STATUS: Full-Time DDNN Line
START DATE: June 12, 2023
SALARY $30.57 - $31.79
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Registered Practical Nurse promotes and restores patients' health by completing the nursing process;
collaborating with patients, physicians and multidisciplinary team members; providing physical and psychological
support to patients, friends, and families; supervising assigned team members.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
Diploma from a recognized College
BCLS, NRP, Level 1 Breast Feeding and Maternal Child Courses, Palliative Care Education
Basic Cardiac Arrhythmias Certification, 12 Lead ECG Interpretation Certification
Two years related nursing experience working in acute, long term care or community setting preferred
Working knowledge of Cerner software computer applications information system and related peripheral
hardware preferred

POSITION-SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITES AND TASKS:
Demonstration of adherence to the professional practice standards of CNO.
Demonstrated application of role in Code situation (ex. Code Blue).
Communicates with patients, families, physicians, staff and community partners.
Working with a variety of patients, from pediatric to geriatric.
Observing and recording patient behavior. Evaluates patient outcomes.
Competent operation of medical equipment.
Performing diagnostic tests within scope of practice
Safely Administering medications and treatments.
Contributes to plan of care from admission to discharge
HOURS OF WORK: Ability to work all shifts, weekends and holidays
