Looking to join a tightly-knit crew? We’re growing our in-house finance team. To thrive in this role, you’ll have 5+ years of bookkeeping experience and can enjoy the pace and variety that comes with working for a company with multiple divisions and subsidiaries and that experiences rapid growth through both organic efforts and M&A activities.

Work remotely from wherever works best for you. Our office headquarters are in Ottawa but 35% of our Crew "commute" from across Canada. We’re limiting our search to within Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Reconciling cash, bank accounts and revenues
  • Maintaining an accurate general ledger, making adjustments as needed
  • Creating journal entries for all accounts, including fixed assets
  • Monitoring the business' cash flow
  • Issuing invoices to and collecting payments from customers
  • Preparing tax returns and monthly and quarterly financial statements
  • Remitting payroll, income, sales and use taxes
  • Processing employees' timesheets and managing payroll

Must-haves

  • Is able to run accounting software, spreadsheets, and word processing software.
  • Possesses knowledge of basic procedures in bookkeeping and accounting.
  • Demonstrates ability to plan, organize, and multitask.
  • Has excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially in listening to and following directions.
  • Exhibits meticulous attention to detail.
  • Is able to adapt to changing job requirements.

Bonus points

  • Deep understanding of Quickbooks.
  • Experience with forecasting & budgeting.
