EMERGENCY ROADSIDE FLEET MANAGER

Our Emergency Roadside Services (ERS) department is one of our core business lines and we are looking for a Fleet Manager to join our growing team. The successful candidate enhances CAA Niagara’s culture leading a team of ERS Drivers (our roadside heroes).

As the Fleet Manager for CAA Niagara, you will lead with our values of integrity, teamwork, service excellence and respect & inclusivity. Accountable for quality, operational efficiency, and ensuring the highest level of member satisfaction, you will partner with the other Fleet Managers and the Contact Centre Manager to ensure a collaborative approach to service excellence and teamwork between contact centre and drivers.
Passionate with delivering rewarding member experiences, you would develop, plan, recommend and implement service enhancements that drive service excellence.

REQUIREMENTS:
To be seriously considered for this role, please have the following in regard to:

  • At least five (5) years of operations experience, with at least three (3) years of managing a team, preferably within a fleet, transportation or logistics operation.
  • Education: Post-Secondary education in Business Management, Logistics or related field, or work experience equivalent
  • Skills: You must have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to lead with courage. Strong conflict resolution skills, you would showcase robust communication skills, orally and written, with the ability to connect with employees and facilitate collaboration of cross-functional groups.
  • Characteristics: This is an integral position within a busy, 24/7 operation – you will be agile, flexible and resilient to change and have the ability to make quick decisions without all the facts immediately in front of you.
  • Mandatory Requirements: Must have valid ‘G’ license (‘D’ an asset), clear drivers abstract, clear background check with the ability to obtain annual towing license from regulatory bodies and valid passport with the ability to cross Canada/US border.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
As CAA Niagara’s Fleet Manager, you will be supporting the daily management of a team of ERS Drivers, including but not limited to the following:

  • Lead with strength, fairness and integrity to a team of ERS Drivers
  • Coach and Develop employees to fulfill company and professional targets
  • Employee Engagement & Culture. Lead by example and focus on ERS engagement and culture
  • Maintain Health & Safety standards, placing an emphasis on a safety-first culture.
  • Scheduling of employee work, including assignments, job rotation, training, vacations and paid time off, cover for absenteeism, and overtime
  • Member interaction experiences and the ability to handle escalations from members, employees and/or suppliers
  • Quality Assurance initiatives, including internal customers, reviewing NPS and CuSat scores and responding appropriately
  • Operational Excellence. Collaboration with ERS Management team to contribute to operational success of the ERS Department as a whole.
  • Budget tracking and adherence to overall budget, including contractor usage and overtime.
