The Firmware team operates on a hybrid schedule out of our Edmonton office.
As a Firmware Engineer Intern, you will get to:

Combine your formal education with specific hands-on experience to kickstart your career as a firmware engineer, embedded engineer, embedded developer, or firmware software developer.

Demonstrate your ability to quickly learn and harness a large set of modern tools to test, implement and deploy embedded firmware solutions.

Gain experience programming and debugging firmware and electronics.
-
Be a valued member of the firmware team and work in collaboration with the hardware and testing teams.

Learn and apply leading edge firmware development technologies into nVent’s growing digital product portfolio.

Gain exposure to Industrial Internet of Things (IIOT) technologies.

Work in a highly collaborative agile team environment to deliver industry leading digital solutions.
You have:

Enrolled in an approved program to obtain a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computing Science, or equivalent. The program must include a co-op or student internship component.

The ability to demonstrate basic software and firmware design and implementation skills.

The ability to demonstrate experience with one or more of: C, C++, Kotlin, or similar.

An understanding of Agile Development practices.

The ability to effectively communicate technical concepts with peers and team members.

The Ability to rapidly learn and apply complex technologies.
