Your Opportunity:

Located in the close-knit community of Didsbury, the Family Counselor will be a key member of a small, collaborative team consisting of a second Family Counselor, Social work and Admin. Nursing, OT and Psychiatry also work in the clinic on a weekly or biweekly basis. The team will be moving into a newly built space spring of 2024, that will personal therapy rooms/offices, large and spacious group therapy rooms and an abundance of natural light. The Family Counselor will work independently and as well, collaboratively with their team and community partners. Once a week, clinicians travel to Airdrie to participate in larger clinical consultation and supervision activities, providing a rich learning environment from which to grow.

Description:

As a Family Counsellor, you will provide assessment, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up to clients and their families. You will also provide clinical focused consultation with other programs or community resources and acts as a liaison to develop and promote preventative health programs in the community. You will collaborate with other health care providers and community service providers to ensure a continuum of care in the community.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of master's degree in a health related field. Active or eligible for registration with applicable professional association or college.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Demonstrated assessment, clinical formulation and risk assessment skills related, but not limited to Trauma, Anxiety/Depression and Behavioral presentations. Registration aligns with Master's Degree (ie MSW has registration with ACSW; M.Psych has registration with ACAP).

Preferred Qualifications:

Ideally 1 - 2 years providing Addiction and MH Services as a primary therapist. Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and clinical skills (individual, family, couple and group), coupled with the ability to be self-directed, highly motivated and work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team environment.
