Irwin's Safety if currently looking for an experienced equipment technician to join our Elkford (BC) Operations team.

General Duties

  • Maintain an orderly, tidy, and clean inventory environment, with appropriate storage conditions for a variety of industrial safety equipment, PPE and consumables
  • Working with the Operations Coordinator, establish local inventory requirements based on both current need and future expectations
  • Work with Asset Manager to implement preventative maintenance program and manufacturer recommended maintenance
  • General shop cleaning and maintenance as required
  • Light-duty vehicle maintenance and small repairs as required (must be mechanically inclined)
  • Establish and maintain relationships with local mechanics, equipment and consumable vendors
  • Provide accurate and timely cost allocation and reporting for regional inventory management
  • Provide information on vehicle usage and fuel costs to allocate costs appropriately to job numbers
  • Provide appropriate documentation for consignment rental equipment to audit costs

Inventory Management & Maintenance

  • Effectively manage and document accountability for movement of equipment and consumables from office to site, site to site, or office to office.
  • Shipping and receiving of equipment, including completing bills or lading, packing lists, and inventory entries
  • Create site and office inventories for region, ensuring reorder points are established, inventory is maintained, and minimum quantities are held in inventory at all times.
  • Oversee compliance on inventory control mechanisms during the execution of projects, including documentation of equipment coming in, going out, establishing reorder points, and attending to preventative maintenance as required.
  • Order equipment and consumables as required for projects and to maintain minimum inventory levels
  • Remove noncompliant equipment and consumables from service, attend to repairs where applicable, and re-enter into service in a timely manner

Customer-Facing

  • Act as an on-site project lead or general labour as required (30-50% of role)
  • Act as a member of project planning teams for large projects, taking on duties as assigned by project managers
  • Perform Pre-Access and Post-incident Drug & Alcohol testing (training to be provided), including lab confirmation testing, on both internal employees and contractors and as a service directly to customers
  • Perform respirator fit and audiometric testing (training to be provided), on both internal employees and contractors and as a service directly to customers

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $25.00 per hour
