Skilled Laborers (All Levels) - Indoor Wood Manufacturing

Description:

Will fabricate all components of a timber - from mass timber products such as glue-laminated (glulam) beams, laminated veneer lumber (LVL), nail-laminated timber (NLT), and dowel-laminated timber (DLT) to steel connectors, cables, and castings, to integrated structural panels complete with mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems pre-installed in the shop.

Primary Duties:

• reading blue prints for beam layout
• steel fitting
• sanding
• precision finishing
• operating power and air tools - hand drill, skill saw, sander

Shift Times:

Monday - Thursday 4:30 pm - 3:00 am

Skills & Qualifications:

1• 6+ months carpentry experience or framing Experience

2• experience using tools (drill, skill saw, hammer, measuring tape)

3• Steel Toe Work Boots

Culture & Environment:

• They will be working on the "north side" of the shop where the more skilled work is executed on
• Working with hand and larger sanders
• Using specialty carpentry tools (training will be provided on any tools candidate doesn't know how to use)
• GO-GO-GO - they have lots of projects on the go so there's no standing around with hands in pockets
• OT available
• must have good communication skills
• Wood fabrication shop that makes wood panels for different industries e.g. evergreen line, museum, Richmond oval etc.
• Candidates will be working mostly indoor in a wood production facility.
• less than 10% of work will be in the yard - gathering materials or packaging
• this is an open production floor, bay doors are open and proper ventilation is in place
• There are about 50 employees on site.
