SCOPE OF POSITION

The EDI Developer maintains control over all EDI transactions, connections, errors and transmissions. This individual is responsible for working with customers providing and soliciting information to setup new implementations and modifying existing ones. The incumbent is responsible for maintaining existing EDI maps, and creating new maps when required. The EDI Developer will be responsible for monitoring both inbound and outbound transactions to ensure successful transmission of files. Collaboration with Scotlynn’s customers are frequent, requiring excellent written and oral communication skills.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Monitors EDI transactions through the FTP, VAN and AS2 connections to ensure all transmissions are complete and valid.

· Development of new, modification of existing and testing of applications and templates.

· Provide implementation support to EDI coordinators, customers, and 3rd parties.

· Coordinate and execute with trading partners on software upgrades, new communication setup, communication protocol migrations and certificate updates.

· Program and update EDI maps using McLeod EDI Editor based on specifications provided by customers, integrators, and 3rd party EDI VANs.

· Maintains EDI documentation (i.e., Trading Partner Guides, Communication details)

· Develop functional and technical specifications.

· Participate in IT Help Desk for ticket management, escalation and resolution as required.

· Acts as EDI Subject Matter Expert and EDI Technical Support for IT Help Desk.

· Participate in software upgrades, migrations, and modifications.

Planning and monitoring

· Ensuring solutions meet business needs and requirements.

· Managing projects, developing project plans, and monitoring performance.

· Updating, implementing, and maintaining procedures.

· Prioritizing initiatives based on business needs and requirements.

· Monitoring deliverables and ensuring timely completion of projects.

Reporting

· Documenting and communicating the results of your efforts.

· Effectively communicating your insights and plans to cross-functional team members and management.

Defining business requirements and reporting them back to stakeholders

· Conducting meetings and presentations to share ideas and findings.

· Gathering critical information from meetings with various stakeholders and producing useful reports.

· Serving as a liaison between stakeholders and users.

Training and development

· Providing leadership, training, coaching, and guidance to staff.

· Performing user acceptance testing.

· Working closely with staff, technicians, management and executive staff.

· Educating other departments on new processes, sharing ideas, and taking feedback

· Assist in special projects and perform other duties as required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, EXPERIENCE

· 1+ year of EDI programming experience.

· EDI design, development, and implementation experience

· Experience in programming of EDI – X12 transactions 204, 210, 214, 990 ,997 and EDI CSV and Flat File structures is an asset.

· Should be familiar with all the details pertaining to EDI Communication Protocols such as FTP, SFTP and AS2.

· Completion of an undergraduate degree or diploma in CS, MIS/Technology or equivalent experience.

· Experience with McLeod Software or Transportation Management software is an asset

· Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.

· Valid Passport as travel may be required.

· Flexibility to work off standard business hours. Some evening and weekend work may be required.

Salary: $54,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
