EDC is looking for a dynamic and motivated emergency management and/or business continuity student to support the Business Continuity Management Program (BCMP) on the Sustainable Business & Enablement team.

The BCMP is a cyclical program that delineates and describes all activities related to business continuity within the organization. Each phase has elements that strengthen the ability of EDC and its employees to prepare to respond to disruptions and mitigate risk.

A placement will be on the following team:
Sustainable Business & Enablement

Responsibilities may include:

  • Collaborate in the design and roll out of an organizational training and awareness program
  • Supporting the development and execution of BCMP exercises and producing exercise documentation
  • Assisting in data analysis, including process/priority mapping
  • Supporting the construction of structured and repeatable reporting systems, dashboards and the SharePoint site
  • Actively participate in the advancement and maturity of all aspects of the Program

Our ideal candidate:

  • A Student enrolled in an Emergency Management and/ or Business Continuity program
  • Experience in BCM exercise design and development
  • Proficiency in PowerBI or SharePoint is an asset
  • Has previous work term experience related to their field of study
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Motivated self-starter, good organizational and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Enthusiasm to tackle any task, whether menial or complex
  • Knowledge of both official languages is an asset
