Employees will be required to work two days a week in the office and a telework agreement will be made with the hiring manager.
Duties
- Conduct in depth research on a variety of regional economic issues impacting FedNor initiatives, policies and programs and prepare written reports and/or briefing notes.
- Play a leadership role within the organization related to performance measurement, research and economic analysis.
- Provide strategic advice and recommendations to senior management.
- Lead project teams, working groups and/or working level discussions to integrate and influence strategies and plans, and to recommend options to decision makers.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to team members as needed, and provide guidance on day-to-day tasks to team members assigned to projects.
- Establish and maintain relationships and networks of contacts, and represent the organization by participating in various fora/committees.

Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization* in Economics, Sociology or Statistics.
- Acceptable specialization is at least one full year course or two half-year courses in Economics, Sociology or Statistics.
Note: Candidates must always have a degree. The courses for the specialization must be acceptable and may have been taken at a recognized post-secondary institution, but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization.
Degree equivalency
EXPERIENCE
EX1- Significant* experience conducting research and integrating complex** ideas to provide strategic advice/recommendations and briefing senior management***.
EX2- Experience establishing and maintaining effective relationships with a network of contacts and represent your organization.
EX3- Experience leading complex** project teams or working groups.
EX4- Recent**** experience providing mentorship and guidance to employees.
Definitions:
*Significant experience is understood to mean the depth and breadth of the experience normally associated with having performed a broad range of various complex** activities related to this task, which are normally acquired over a period of at least two (2) consecutive years.
**Complex is defined as referring to at least one (1) of the following characteristics: involving multiple partners or stakeholders, impacting a community/organization/economic sector, having a potential for significant socio-economic outcome, or other similar characteristics.
***Senior management is defined as President / Director Level and above.
****Recent refers to experience gained within the last five years.

ASSET EDUCATION
Graduation with a Master’s degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in economics, sociology, statistics, business/commerce, political science, public policy, mathematics or a related field.

ASSET EXPERIENCE
AE1 - Experience in the development and/or implementation of program performance measurement and evaluation frameworks.
AE2 – Experience using software to combine data from multiple sources to produce charts, graphs, maps and data visualizations.
AE3 - Experience in engaging with stakeholder groups that support the economic inclusion of equity-seeking groups (e.g., Indigenous Peoples, Black or Racialized Persons, Persons with Disabilities, 2SLGBTQIA+, Women) and/or rural and remote communities.
