Driver / GENERAL LABOURER Job at North American Hard Chrome

The driver will be working in many different elements (snow, rain, humidity etc). This position requires the employee to be moving through other areas on a regular basis. From this movement, the employee will encounter varying temperatures from these areas.

  • Must have a vast knowledge of the GTA
  • Must have a clean driver abstract
  • Will support other production areas as needed
  • Troubleshoot issues as they occur. Develop alternative solutions before seeking assistance with colleagues and the Operations Manager. The expectation is of resourcefulness
  • Completes work as assigned by the Operations Manager
  • Will be working in a team – not assuming that “someone else will take care of it”
  • Obeys all safety rules and regulations
  • Time management skills is essential to this role
  • Makes it understood that the customer is our priority and each employee is here to support that priority
  • Performs any other duties and tasks as may be assigned from time to time by the Operations Manager
  • Responsible for loading/unloading the truck before/after each run, strapping/unstrapping taking the utmost care of each customer’s part
  • Responsible for communicating with the Shipper/Receiver as per which parts are coming and going
  • Meeting or anticipating deadlines
  • Keep work trucks clean, and maintaining all daily safety checks on vehicles, informing management of any safety issues immediately
  • Responsible for maintaining the daily driver’s log as per the Ministry’s standards
  • Paperwork and reports are up to date and accurate, ensuring that all proper paperwork is delivered/received to customers (i.e. packing slips/purchase orders)

  • The employee must have a full range of body movements including use of hands to fingers, handle or feel objects, computer equipment and peripherals as well as, bending reaching and crouching
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 55lbs

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $18.00-$24.00 per hour

Experience:

  • delivery driving: 2 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • Class G Licence (required)
