We're looking for a passionate Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Manager to help deliver consulting and facilitation services to our world-class clients. CultureAlly is a full-service DEI company that offers clients consulting, training and e-learning services. We work with for profit and non-profit organizations across the globe including Maple Leaf Foods, Ballard Power Systems, HomeStars and many more.

CultureAlly is proudly founded by two women and is a led by a CEO of colour. Since launching in 2021, we have grown quickly and are adding core team members who will play influential roles in establishing and growing the client team. This role will work directly with our lead trainer and consulting team. This role will be responsible for leading client consulting relationships, audits, strategies, and implementations and supporting on delivering on trainings to clients. This role will be tasked with leading all client consulting contracts and relationships, advising clients on key areas of DEI focus, providing strategies and tactics to overcome barriers to equity and guiding clients through implementation and success tracking of strategies. Additionally, this role will support the training team as a facilitator by facilitating trainings and advising on content and learning curriculums. Like most startups, roles can evolve over time - depending on bandwidth, you may be supporting the training team or consulting team more at different times of the year.

What you’ll do:

Deliver World Class Services:

  • Oversee all consulting services and clients. This role will be accountable to ensure all consulting client deliverables are met on time and to a high standard.
  • Leading clients through conducting culture assessments and analysis, developing DEI strategies and strategy implementation. Tailoring each approach specifically to the client, industry and size.
  • Monitor client satisfaction, reflect and implement improvements to support CultureAlly’s services becoming the best in class.
  • Supporting on facilitation and content creation for DEI trainings, including but not limited to foundations to DEI, Unconscious Bias, Anti-Racism, Allyship and Inclusive Leadership, etc.
  • Coach DEI councils and committees on purpose, structure, initiatives and strategies.
  • Ensure clients are equipped with the resources and communications they need to run a successful DEI program.

Deliver Excellent Client Experiences & Always Go Above And Beyond:

  • Expanding our services and improving current approaches and processes to ensure we have the best services in market.
  • Communicate and consult with clients through meetings, presentations, written communications, project boards, etc.
  • Develop a deep understanding of our clients’ goals, objectives, and pain points and how it relates to our services and solutions.
  • Identify Client team growth opportunities and ways to surprise and delight our clients.

Work Collaboratively with the CultureAlly Team:

  • Building the client playbook, from how we communicate with our clients to conducting inclusive policy audits to tactics and best practices for removing equity barriers.
  • Collect client testimonials and share with sales and marketing teams.
  • Accountable for client team KPIs and goals
  • Like most start-ups, we wear many hats in the company and you'll likely engage in a wide variety of interesting work that may not be included on this list

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Strong DEI program development and implementation expertise and experience, specifically in anti-racism strategy development. Or transferable skills (not limited to but could include: Human resources, employment equity, other business consulting, etc.)
  • Excellent written communication skills with an ability to write reports, organizational communications, craft presentations and create learning materials/resources.
  • Excellent relationship building skills, as you will be required to maintain and develop relationships with differing levels of staff and stakeholders including with c-suite and different internal teams.
  • Ability to influence and engage sr. leadership and c-suite executives on the value of DEI programs
  • Excellent listening, verbal communication, public speaking & presentation skills with the ability to adjust communication style and level of detail based on the seniority of the audience and to work with a broad range of clients with varying skill sets
  • Highly self-motivated and comfortable with a high degree of ownership in a fast paced, collaborative and remote environment with ability to work with a sense of urgency.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity with solid organizational and prioritization skills including attention to detail, project management and multitasking skills.
  • High digital literacy. We’re a 100% remote and digital company and frequently use a variety of systems and softwares (ex. ClickUp, Slack, CultureAlly eLearning). You should be very comfortable using and picking up new software.
  • Someone who is resourceful and enjoys to build hands-on (and sometimes from scratch).

Nice to haves, but not required (please don't let this hold you back from applying):

The Package:

  • Salary: $60-$65k

Interview #1: Phone/Zoom Screen (30 minutes)

Interview #2: 1 hr interview with an in-interview exercise with CultureAlly Co-founders (1 hour)

Interview #3: Meet the client team (30 minutes)

Start Date: January 17 2023 or later

In your first month:

In your first month you will be getting up to speed with our consulting methodology and likely be jumping into some training contracts, by the end of the first month you'll be leading your first client meeting and delivering your first training. We believe the best learning is done by doing. From day 1 you will working directly with clients alongside our current client team until you are confident to run on your own.

Other things to know:

As an early startup we have spent a lot of time documenting the way we work, creating templates, etc. but we are still growing and there are many projects you will have the opportunity to build from scratch and bring you own expertise to make our current work even better. This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership, explore your own creativity and feel like you are having a real impact in creating equitable and inclusive workplaces. As a client facing role you are expected to be available from 9-5pm EST and flexible in working with the clients timezones and needs. Some meetings and training may occasionally fall outside of these hours.

Some training clients prefer in person training delivery and there is opportunity to visit consulting clients in person. There may be travel required to meet client deliverables. As such, we require the CultureAlly team to be vaccinated as per the request of our clients delivering in person trainings. We are willing to make exceptions on a case by case basis and would be happy to connect with you on finding a workaround.

CultureAlly is a fully remote DEI company with employees in Canada and partners across the globe. We current are a team of 5 full time, 5 part time employees and a growing list of facilitators. We launched operations in April of 2021.
