Community Living Association for South Simcoe (CLASS) is currently seeking experienced direct support professionals who have the drive and passion for supporting high behaviour people with physical and developmental disabilities. Direct support professionals at CLASS work in conjunction with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure a welcoming, safe and healthy living environment for clients with challenging aggressive behaviours. Candidates must have direct experience supporting people with dual diagnosis including mental health, and a dedication to serve people with unique but severe emotional and behavioural difficulties.

Located in beautiful South Simcoe County CLASS is just 50 minutes north of Toronto and less than a half hour from the heart of cottage country; an ideal site close to summer and winter recreation and just 40 minutes from Blue Mountain, Snow Valley and the ski hills of Mansfield. CLASS supports in Alliston, Everett, Cookstown, Bradford, Innisfil and Tottenham.

Position Requirements:

CLASS Direct Support Professionals must have

• High School diploma or completion of related post-secondary program (developmental services or a related field of human services)
• A minimum of three months experience working with people with highly aggressive behaviours, dual diagnosis including mental health (e.g., developmental disabilities + mental health), intellectual disabilities and medical needs
• Experience in behaviour observation and tracking
• Knowledge of implementation of behaviour support plans
• Current Standard First Aid Level C / CPR or ready to be trained
• Current NVCI (non-violent crisis intervention) or ready to be trained
• A valid Ontario driver’s license (G2 or G)
• A valid Vulnerable Sector Check obtained within the past 6 months
• Availability to work flexible weekday, evening and weekend hours, overnight awake positions are also available
