You will join the Content Delivery team to provide leadership, technical expertise, support, and architecture for TELUS’ leading edge content delivery solutions. This is an opportunity to provide our customers throughout Canada with the highest Quality of Experience by carrying a wide range of services over any network. We are a distributed team that collaborates remotely to support a truly national pipeline. What You'll Do


  • Lead technical ownership, maintenance, and development of all aspects of the Content Delivery Network (CDN)
  • Develop new architectures and designs to support the acquisition and delivery of content in new and exciting ways
  • Ensure technical designs of networks are architected to be flexible, scalable, maintainable, and reliable
  • Continuously review all content collection and delivery solutions in an effort to manage the appropriate use of standardized components and to ensure that the services are planned, designed, and implemented as per Best Common Practice (BCP) requirements
  • Work with Project Managers and Network Planners to ensure the successful delivery of projects and any needed growth to sustain it
  • Develop and maintain documentation to support the environment

Qualifications

What You Bring


  • Ability to create and execute test plans in a dedicated and representative lab environment
  • Hands-on familiarity with testing methodologies and quality control
  • Ability to create and execute a high quality Method of Procedure (MOP) while executing changes in a complex and dynamic production environment
  • Strong troubleshooting methodology and willingness to dig into a problem
  • With 5+ years of relevant experience, you are confident in making and owning technical decisions
  • Comfortable supporting a system that operates 24/7/365 with a requirement to share on call duties and participate in off-peak changes
  • Ability to lead and collaborate with a variety of diverse groups and technical teams (internal and external)
  • Support specific customer issues through assessment, interpretation, resolution or recommendations
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, confident with presenting material to peers and senior management
  • Ability to work in an environment with high levels of ambiguity
  • Ability to manage deliverables as part of an extended team
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, talented at developing and fostering positive relationships with other team members
  • Bachelors Computer Science or Electrical Engineering Degree



Great-to-haves


  • A background in Over The Top (OTT) video delivery protocols and/or Digital Rights Management (DRM) systems
  • Experience building and supporting Linux-based servers
  • Keen interest in scripting and automation
  • Understanding of DNS, IPv4/IPv6, TLS, and/or multicast protocols
  • Knowledge of running containerized microservices and cloud services
  • Familiar with RFCs 2616, 7230, 7232, and 7234 (among others)
