Construction Safety Officer Job at Country Green Excavating Limited
We are seeking a detail oriented and proactive construction safety officer (CSO) to join our team. This position will require travel between our various construction sites across Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley. The CSO will be responsible for upholding company safety standards and fostering a safety oriented environment.
Please note: This is a hands-on job position that requires a full time presence at the job-sites with minimal administrative work. The candidate must be able to perform general labour duties as required.
Skills and Requirements:
- Occupational First Aid Level 2 required;
- Construction Safety Officer (CSO) certification;
- At least 3-5 years of civil construction experience preferred;
- Strong working knowledge of local residential/commercial construction practices;
- Excellent organizational, presentation, and interpersonal skills;
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks & meet deadlines;
- Comfortable working with and/or learning new software programs (i.e. SiteDocs);
- Proficient using MS Word, Excel and Outlook;
- Effective communication skills;
- Ability to work in a team environment;
- Excellent attention to detail;
- Good problem-solving skills.
Job Description:
- Provide first aid treatment within scope of training;
- Maintain first aid facilities and equipment;
- Implement and monitor the company's safety program and related policies;
- Monitor the safety performance of all on-site workers;
- Hold quarterly safety meetings with company employees;
- Complete daily site inspections;
- Ensure safety reports, orientations, meeting minutes and data are collected and submitted to the H&S Manager as required;
- Able to physically work on site to maintain site housekeeping, repair guardrails, and perform general labour duties, etc. as required;
- Other duties may be assigned consistent with the job description.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
