Job Summary

The Project Manager (PM) will be based in Calgary, AB and oversee a set of townhouse and clubhouse construction projects located in Red Deer, Stettler, Brooks and Lloydminster. Part of this role will be to coordinate the tendering, bid leveling and awarding of CCA 1 construction contracts. The PM will support the activities of the Site Superintendents with building schedules, developing, and managing budgets, issuing PO’s and providing answers to RFI’s. This PM will also be responsible for coordinating with the Design Team during the design, tender and construction phase in managing all drawings and documents to ensure that the Company’s requirements are met.

Job Duties

  • This job requires strong analytical and technical abilities and demands fast, but carefully thought-out results centered around townhouse construction.

  • The PM will work with the Design Department, VP of Development and Alberta PM to continually monitor the company projects while facilitating the flow of information for these projects between the Design Team and the Construction Team.
  • Coordinate the tendering, with the consultant team’s assistance, for all construction contracts.
  • The PM will prepare, update, and manage the construction schedule using MS Project while collaborating with Site Supers.
  • The PM will be required to have regular construction meetings for each project and visit each of the project sites on a regular basis.
  • Ensure high standards of workmanship and efficiency
  • Adhere to company policies and standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, and safety
  • Ensure compliance with licensing laws, health and safety, and other statutory requirements

Desired Skills and Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of townhouse construction experience preferred
  • Degree or diploma in construction/architectural technology preferred
  • Experience building and revising construction schedules using MS Project
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to work individually as well as part of a collaborative team
  • Efficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with Yardi Voyager
  • A good understanding of Bluebeam REVU
