Community Support Worker - Full Time / Part Time (Shift Work) Job at Thompson Community Services

At the forefront of service delivery to individuals, families and communities, TCS is seeking Community Support Workers (for Part Time, Full Time, and casual positions), for our Salmon Arm location. This is shiftwork, and applicants must be available to work both weekdays and weekends, and all shifts (days, afternoons, and overnights).
Duties include:
· Providing care, training, coaching and support to individuals, and assists in their developmental growth and success;
· Developing and community activities and opportunities to enhance inclusion and acceptance;
· Maintaining the residential home by completing regularly cleaning, tidying, and ensuring all equipment is repaired and maintained in good working order;
· Participating and contributing in the planning process related to the individual’s Personal Life Plan (PLP);
· Providing recreation support to individuals;
· Maintaining and building effective relationships and advocates on the individual’s behalf;
· And taking responsibility for personal growth and development.
To be successful in this position, you must Be able to safely work alone, fulfill the above job requirements, implement activity programs, demonstrate leadership within the home by being a positive role model.
As the successful candidate, you have minimum Grade 12 or equivalent education. Experience in providing care and support to individuals in a community based or in-home setting is preferred. Completion of or course work towards the Community Support Worker Certificate or Group Home Support Certificate is preferred.
Possessing a Class 5 Driver’s license and a personal vehicle is required as is the ability to maintain a flexible schedule. We offer a competitive salary.
