RAPS is Seeking a Community Rehabilitation Worker Level 2 (S29)

Location: Northeast Edmonton (Schonsee)

Days & Hours:

Wednesday/Friday: 7:00pm-10:00pm

Saturday/Sunday: 11:00am-3:00pm

Job Description: Duties include but are not limited to

· Assist and encourage independent living skills (personal hygiene, chores, laundry, grocery shopping, e.c.t).

· Plan engaging activities, and prepare the necessary materials.

· Explore inclusive opportunities within the community (volunteer & employment).

· Assist with expressive communication.

· Help to develop and maintain friendships with peers.

· Provide supervision and companionship.

Qualifications and Other Requirements:

· Community Support Worker Certificate or a background in Speech Pathology, Occupational Therapy and/or Education.

· Recent Criminal Record Check with the Vulnerable Sector.

· A minimum of 2 years of direct support experience with developmental disabilities

· Valid driver’s license/vehicle ($2 million insurance).

· Current First Aid & CPR (or willing to obtain shortly after hire).

· Be non-smoker and fully vaccinated against covid-19.

Preference given to those who are able to communicate in various ways including the use of iPads, visual scheduling, verbal communication, and basic sign language to support expressive communication skills. Must be able to plan activities, and come prepared with materials.

The ideal candidate will be resourceful, and have the ability to plan outings/assist client with finding volunteer and inclusive work opportunities.

Rate of Pay: $25.25/Hour
