Scope

Recreation Services Business Operations team is seeking a fast-paced, tech-savy, outgoing, team player to contribute to day-to-day digital and operational communication efforts for a temporary full-time position until March 2024.
The candidate will work closely with the Business Operations team and well as support the Marketing team by coordinating and writing materials for Recreation Surrey’s programs, campaigns and key initiatives.
Responsibilities

Coordinate, write, edit, and deploy digital content for city digital channels with Marketing (eNews, web, social media, other digital) and manage content within designated city platforms.
Manage and coordinate the recreation facility TV slide schedule.
Manage and coordinate the PRC phone hold queue messaging.
Manage and coordinate Recreation Surrey’s drop-in schedule program.
Work closely with Business Operations and Marketing to enhance our internal communications strategy.
Support Business Operations communications that pertain to online registration, customer service emails, communication scripts for the call centre and other requests.
Work closely with the Marketing team to ensure requests align with City branding, strategic directions, marketing plans, and ranked priorities.
Work collaboratively with channel specialist and internal clients while providing exceptional customer service.
Support key portfolio work for city business areas as assigned.
Support maintenance of communications calendars for corporate initiatives and key campaigns.
Qualifications

Completion of Grade 12 supplemented by a diploma in Communications or a related field from a recognized post-secondary institution plus a minimum of three years related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Be a strategic thinker, always seeing the big picture while ensuring your approach and messaging is aligned with the City’s overall strategic direction, policies/guidelines, and key objectives.
Be a great communicator and collaborator with extensive knowledge in communications, project management and writing.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and thrive at meeting deadlines and adapting to change.
Ability to write in a plain language, easy to understand, engaging, audience tailored, and in a relevant and in a consistent voice and tone.
Have good judgement, can prioritize and organize your workload, and can work independently within a team setting.
Maintain strong working relationships daily within your team and with clients.
Conditions of Employment

This position requires completion of a Police Information Check.
