COBOURG DISTRICT (COBOURG, LINDSAY, PETERBOROUGH & AREA)

POSITION: Security Guard

ANTICIPATED HOURS: Variable up to 48 hours per week, overtime possible up to 60 hours per week

LOCATION: Wood PLC / Canadian Nuclear Laboratories (CNL)

EFFECTIVE: Immediate opening

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Provide physical security for the external perimeter of the site, using patrol vehicle provided by the client

· Operate security vehicle on all streets, roads & highways, during all operational hours (24/7), 12 months of the year

· Patrol sites listed by the client on the Work area sheet

· Conduct patrols/ exterior surveillance of all CNL/PHAI sites twice per twenty-four hour period, seven days per week

· Perform visual inspections of the site from the patrol vehicle

· Keep a log of each patrol and submit to Site Supervisor

· Assess for any security concerns: trespassers, damage/ vandalism etc.

· Any concerns to be reported immediately to the client and an incident report to be made

· Incident reports are to include a minimum of: time, date, damage/ breach observed, name of other parties involved, actions taken by the Patroller and the name of the Patrol Guard

· To record mileage in vehicle log book at the beginning and end of each shift

· Complete vehicle safety checklist at the beginning of each shift, before conducting any patrols

· Maintain confidentiality at all times

· At the beginning and end of each shift check in and sign off with the SOC.

· Any other duties as assigned by the District Supervisor /client relative to the security of the site

REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

· Ontario Security Guard License (online training available, see below)

· Emergency First Aid/CPR A

· Ontario Driver’s License and a clean abstract required for position

· Reliable vehicle to attend client sites

· Canadian Armed Forces, Police & emergency services veterans preferred but not required
