We are seeking an experienced associate to join our Civil Litigation practice at Adlai Law PC. The ideal candidate will have at least 2-3 years of experience, exceptional communication skills, and demonstrated responsibility for and experience managing civil and commercial litigation files.

The ideal candidate would have experience in a wide range of litigation matters, including insurance defense, real estate, medical malpractice and employment matters etc..

Our ideal candidate will have:

· a minimum of 2- 3 years’ experience practicing Civil Litigation Law;

· a friendly personality and strong interpersonal skills;

· takes initiative, strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and a critical thinker;

· must be able to work independently but also to cooperate and collaborate with other members of the office and external professionals;

· excellent time management and organizational skills, attention to detail, be able to multi-task, prioritize work and complete it to tight deadlines;

· an excellent command of the English language, including spelling and grammar;

· proficiency with technology and Microsoft Office.

-knowledge of Rules of Civil Procedure

Licence/Certification:

  • Member good standing, Law Society of Ontario (required)

Responsibilities after training will include:

  • Drafting pleadings, briefs and settlement documents
  • Draft/ Review correspondences
  • Carriage of files from inception and pre-litigation through to resolution
  • Manage ongoing files
  • Conduct and review legal research
  • Attend court in-person or remotely
  • Preparation of all legal documents relevant to civil litigation
  • Meet directly and remotely with clients and other lawyers
