RAPS is Seeking a Part-Time Caregiver to Assist an Elderly Individual with Dementia (E29)

Location: North Edmonton (Eau Claire)

Days: Monday and Thursday 9am-1pm

Alternating Saturdays 9am- 9pm

Job Description: Duties include but are not limited to transfer from bed to wheelchair & back using a Hoyer lift, changing incontinence products, perineal care in bed, range of motion exercise, blood glucose monitoring, blood pressure reading, medication administration, dressing, other personal care, feeding, companionship and light housekeeping.

Skills Required: Blood pressure reading, medication administration, range of motion (ROM) exercise, sponge bath, dressing, adult briefs, feeding, personal care and catheter care.

Qualifications and Other Requirements: the successful candidate must have a recent criminal record check including the vulnerable sector check. Non-smoker, have a driver's license & vehicle to get to work. Previous experience with elder care and disabilities will be an asset. Must be able to perform manual transfer from bed to wheelchair. Preference for applicants that have flexibility to back up & cover other staff if necessary. Must be able to work independently, maintain a clean & sanitary environment. Ideal candidates will be reliable, honest, kind, patient & able to take initiative.

Rate of Pay: $17.00/hour (increase after three months based on performance)
