DUTIES

Reporting to the Bookstore Supervisor, the position performs duties necessary for the day-to-day operation of the UCN Bookstore. These
duties include, but are not limited to, customer service, receiving stock, stocking shelves, merchandising, book returns, receiving payments
for other UCN departments and cashing out. The incumbent is required to relieve the Bookstore Supervisor when necessary.
It is an expectation of all staff within the university college that they will observe standards of behavior consistent with their role as an
employee of the University College of the North. The incumbent must ensure that the functional areas under their control comply with the
Workplace Safety and Health Act and all applicable UCN policies and procedures.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• High school diploma or equivalent; combinations of training, education and experience may be considered
• Ability to pay attention to detail for cash handling and computer data entry
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated punctuality and reliability
• Ability to work as part of a team in an interruptive and fast-paced environment
• Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Commitment to life-long learning

ASSETS
• Certificate in office assistant/computer business skills or related program
  • Experience and/or knowledge and understanding of Indigenous cultures
  • Retail and cash handling experience
  • Experience in merchandising and stocking
