As the Bilingual Specifications Writer, you will be able to perform the following in both English & French:

  • Reports to Specifications Manager; Be the first point of contact between ATS and their user base for our Email Spec Service.
  • Provide technical information about products to mechanical engineers, architects, interior designers and our customers (Building Product Manufactures)
  • Provide customer support via telephone, email and virtual meetings for specification requests and provide answers to product applications.
  • Prepare mechanical and architectural product specifications using ATS Spec Tool, ATS Visual Spec

Builder, design development outline (proposals) and design-build specifications for commercial projects across North America.

  • Research and evaluate construction materials and products to satisfy the end user’s needs, as well as to comply with local building code and other regulations.
  • Analyze, understand and, on occasion provide quantity take-offs on architectural drawings.
  • Interpret client’s requirements to ensure specifications are accurate
  • Continuously grasp mechanical and architectural product knowledge through daily work and in-house product training.

As a Specification Writer you must have:

  • College Diploma or University Degree, in Architecture.
  • Construction Specification Institute Certification preferred, or working towards.
  • Greater than one year, but less than or equal to five years of architectural/building technician or equivalent experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with excellent fluency in English.
  • Adaptable to set and prioritize work with varying exceptions, occasionally working overtime to meet project deadlines.
  • Strong written abilities needed for internal and external purposes.
  • Superior organizational skills and be tech-savvy with excellent abilities using MS Office.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with excellent fluency in English.

Nice to Have:

  • Prior sales or customer service experience
  • Familiar with Building Codes
  • Mechanical Engineering / Architectural background
  • Knowledge of Div. 15 and Div. 10
