College Ford Taber's high-performing team requires an Automotive Technician to start immediately.

We are looking for a Red Seal Journeyman Automotive Technician OR an experienced 4th Year Apprentice Journeyman to join College Ford Taber team. Remuneration includes competitive flat rate and benefits. Other vehicle manufacturer training and certificates could receive training/certificate credits from Ford.

Other vehicle manufacturer training and certificates could receive wage top up from College Ford of Taber.

We are looking for individuals who has:

● Journeyman qualifications

● Out of province licensed considered an asset

● Efficient problem-solving skills

● Ability to learn new technology and repair and service procedures and specifications

● Diesel engine, transmission, and/or electrical experiences are an asset but not required

● High level of integrity and work ethic

● Ability to work individually, and as a part of a team

● Out of province licensed considered an asset

● A valid class 5 driver's license and a journeyman license

Your duties include:

● Test all systems and components are secure and are working properly

● Isolate the systems or components that might have cause the problem

● Maintain efficiency and accuracy in diagnosing & repairing vehicles

● Repair or replace worn parts ahead of the vehicle's breakdown or damage

● Follow a checklist to ensure that each critical part of the vehicle is examined

● Inspect parts closely (i.e. hoses, belts, plugs, fuel systems, brakes, and other possible troublesome items)

● Use power tools, machine tools & common hand tools

● Review work orders and discuss with supervisor

● Inspect motor in operation, road test vehicles, and test systems and components using computerized diagnostic and other testing devices to diagnose and isolate faults

● Adjust, repair or replace parts and components including fuel system, brakes, steering and suspension, engine and drivetrain, emission control and exhaust, cooling and climate control, and electrical and electronic systems using hand tools and other specialized automotive repair equipment

Hours:

· 7:30am - 5:00pm on weekdays (may require overtime). No Weekends and No Stat Holidays.
