The Role: Apartment Building Resident Manager (Full-time)

Trellis operates TreeHouse a 11-unit apartment building for youth and young families. Offering a safe and supported place to live while in a time of transition. Tenants are supported by case managers to work on individual life goals and build life skills. We are looking for someone who want to be part of this support team!

Tasks & Responsibilities:
  • Apartment building management through rent collection.
  • Light Cleaning & Maintenance Coordination
  • Conduct Lease signing, walk throughs, inspections, maintenance requests and distribute notices according to Alberta Residential Tenancies Act as directed.
  • Be available for most evenings and weekends for tenant support in event of crisis, or urgent matters.
  • Communicate and collaborate with tenant’s case managers on guest management or tenant issues.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with Apartment tenants, management and partners.
  • Help create and contribute to an environment of safety, support and inclusion
  • Cultivate and strengthen community through different initiatives and opportunities for apartment tenant
What You’ll Bring to The Role:
  • Degree or Diploma in Human Services (or Student currently studying in related field)
  • Previous experience renting apartments and assisting tenants/working with clients required
  • Two years’ experience working with children, youth and families;
  • Knowledge of child & adolescent development and healthy family functioning
  • Knowledge and understanding of Harm Reduction Principles
  • LGBTQ2S+ BIPOC Safe & Inclusive
  • Good understanding of the impact on people in the areas of trauma, attachment, loss and grief
  • Knowledge of applicable legislation respecting residential tenancies in Alberta and the rights and obligations of Landlords and Tenants an asset.
  • Strong oral & written communication, file management, interpersonal, counselling, assessment, intervention, and collaboration skills
  • Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve and communicate effectively.
  • Computer literacy - PC skills are an asset (Word, Excel, e-mail/web).
  • Current Police Check, Intervention Record Check, Driver’s Abstract, RSW (if applicable)
  • Upon Hire; Required training: Indigenous, Diversity, Cultural, ASIST & First Aid
Reporting Relationship:
This position directly reports to a Trellis Program Manager
