Agricultural Technician and Sales

The Agricultural Technician position is a full time, seasonal position for 12 weeks starting on June 1, 2023. 32 hours per week, 8:00 am to 4:30pm Monday to Friday and the occasional Saturday.

Salary: $15.50 per hour The position will be funded through the Canada Summer Jobs Grant and is open to youth aged 15-30 years.

Responsibilities:

• Work alongside our management staff in garden plot layout, record keeping, data collection and analysis of results

• Experience will be gained in agricultural practices, crop production, machinery operation, identification of weeds, insects and crop diseases, and trial methodology

• Hands on experience operating small plot field equipment such as tractors, lawn cutting and tillage tools

• Organize, plan, plant, cultivate and harvest crops

• Lawn and property maintenance

• Assist with the sale of produce at the Produce Shed

• Track inventory and record sales each day

• Other duties as required Qualifications and skills:

• Excellent work ethic, communication, and time management skills

• Previous cash handling and customer service experience a plus

• Punctual with reliable form of transportation

• Full G class license with a clean drivers abstract

• Able to lift/move up to 50 lbs
