Capital Power Corporation is currently seeking an innovative and motivated individual to join our dynamic Finance team!

Reporting to the Vice President (VP) and Treasurer, as the Administrative Assistant, you are accountable for meeting scheduling, expense claim processing, records management and filing, photocopier support, and organizing team events.

You will contribute to the team by

  • Organizing and scheduling meetings for Finance VPs and direct reports, as well as for other teams as required.
  • Entering expense or purchasing card claims on behalf of Finance VP’s (and other areas as required) into Oracle ERP.
  • Providing accounts payable invoice entry as required.
  • Following up with employees on deficient expense claims and answers routine questions on expense claims process.
  • Monitoring stationery and supplies inventory and, orders any additional items to restore inventory to appropriate level.
  • Being responsible for office mail.
  • Filing and organizing documents and sends manual archived documents to off-site storage.
  • Performing routine administrative tasks requested by the Finances VPs (and other areas as required) such as assisting with new staff arrivals, staff physical moves, coordinating security access for external visitors, etc.
  • Handling expenditures for Finance VPs and other team members.
  • Working with Finance groups and other areas to which support is provided.
  • Developing working rapport with administrative assistants and management across Capital Power departments.
  • Interacting with selected external contacts such as external visitors, event providers, caterers, suppliers.

What you will bring to the role:

Education:

  • High School Diploma.
  • Administrative training is an asset.

Experience:

  • 1-3 years of experience in an administrative support or similar role

Technical Skills:

  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Working knowledge MS Office suite – PowerPoint and Word.
  • Knowledge of Oracle an asset.
  • Prior exposure to accounts payable processing desirable.

Working Conditions:

  • Hybrid Office/Work from home position, with possible very minimal travel to meet business users at Capital Power facilities or other offices.

Hours of Work: 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week

Wage: $28.75 - $34.27
