Robert Half is accepting applications for a skilled Accounts Payable (A/P) Clerk that thrives in a fast-paced environment and is seeking a short-term contract / temporary position at a recognized company in the Government industry. Serving as the Accounts Payable Clerk, you will match, batch, and code invoices, resolve A/P issues, process expense reports, update and reconcile sub-ledger to G/L, and process checks. This is a superb role and you will have the opportunity for career growth and advancement within this dynamic department. Based out of the Halton Hills, Ontario area, the Accounts Payable Clerk will be a short-term contract / temporary opening.
Responsibilities:
Produce full-cycle A/P
Managing vendor payments to optimize working capital
Timely review and reconciliation of vendor statements and queries
Coordinating the monthly and year-end closing of the AP sub-ledger;
Monitoring adherence to purchasing policies;
Ensuring the AP sub-ledger ties to the General Ledger on a monthly basis
Manage the process of verifying, logging, and mailing checks, including expediting special handling
Ensure invoices, checks, and other documents are properly sorted, logged, scanned, and filed
Carry out daily processes and controls accurately and on time, and ensure compliance with company policies
Facilitate internal and external audits as needed
Execute additional tasks as needed
Assist internal business partners with any customer services needs
Open, organize, and distribute department mail daily
Command of Microsoft Excel
Microsoft Great Plains Dynamics experience
Accounts Payable (AP) experience desired
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, especially when interacting with those in the technical and financial backgrounds
Attention to detail and proven ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
5+ years of experience in an A/P role preferred
AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting, Business or similar preferred
