Reporting to the CFO, the person selected for this position must have experience in accounting as they are responsible for carrying out the day-to-day financial operations of the business. The ideal candidate has sound knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank and credit card reconciliation, accrual accounting and journal entries. They will assist with the month end and year end closing procedures, including working with external auditors, and will support certain financial analysis and reporting. The person in this role works closely with other members of the organization, as well as suppliers and preferred vendors on topics such as inventory management, purchasing and payroll, and therefore has good interpersonal and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Accounts payable

- Posting of supplier invoices, ensuring proper documentation received

- Credit card reconciliations, ensuring proper documentation received

- Inter-company transactions

- A/P Accruals

- Reconciliation of vendor statements

- Maintains supplier price lists

- Online bill payments

  • Accounts receivable

- Invoicing franchise locations

- Interclub invoicing

- A/R Accruals

- Recording all revenue sources

- A/R reporting

  • Bank reconciliations

- Weekly reconciliations of multiple bank accounts

- Ensure proper entries for all deposits and withdrawals

- Maintain lease/loan schedules

- Perform intercompany bank transfers as needed

  • Journal entries

- Month end entries according to schedules

- Adjusting entries when necessary

- Intercompany entries

  • Payroll

- Using Ceridian payroll system: adding new employees, editing employee files/rates, terminating employees and producing ROE’s, allocating vacation pay, calculating statutory holiday pay according to CNESST rates, entering personal trainer invoices, manager expenses

- Reporting scheduled hours vs actual hours worked, determine discrepancy reasons

- Posting payroll in accounting software, producing payroll reports

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $55,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
