Accounting Assistant Job at Robert Half
Robert Half is looking to hire an Accounting Assistant to join the growing staff at a thriving company in the Waste, Refuse & Environmental Waste Mgt industry. You will perform a range of Accounting Clerical duties including, matching invoices to purchase orders and/or vouchers, data entry and assisting in the process of Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R). This permanent role is for an Accounting Clerk in the Niagara Falls, Ontario, area.
What you get to do every single day
Completes daily cash receipts and application.
Responds to, and investigates, customer account inquiries to avoid delays in collection of revenues and solve potential customer disputes.
Produce purchase orders and work orders in the CRM.
Creates various invoicing reports and manually prepares special invoices as required.
Organize and maintain filing systems to ensure accurate customer information and easy retrieval of billing information.
Supports sales, operations, and finance department staff as necessary to complete reporting or filing duties in a timely manner.
Performs additional administrative duties such as filing, scanning, data entry, tracking expenses, accounts verification, coding and applying payments, and preparing documents.
Reviews accounts payable for coding and tax accuracy, makes cost accrual entries to ensure accurate month end cut-off of expenses.
Provides back-up relief support for Accounts Payable during absences and vacations .
Other reasonable duties as assigned.

- Ability to multitask efficiently and prioritize work
- AA or BS/BA in Accounting or related field preferred
- Qualified in Spreadsheet and ERP system
- Accurate, swift, data entry abilities
- 1+ years of accounting experience required
- Solid understanding of Accounts Payable (AP)
- Expertise in Accounts Receivable (AR)
