Marathon Underground Constructors Corporation is currently seeking a full-time Accounting Administrator to join our team.

The Accounting Administrator reports to the Controller and CFO and is responsible for providing financial, administrative, and clerical services. This role performs general accounting tasks and supports the team to help streamline the organization’s financial processes. The candidate’s responsibilities include but is not limited to record keeping and management of Capital and fixed asset accounting, maintaining scanned documents of equipment leases and setting up equipment into the accounting software, identifying capital asset purchases, disposition, and recording, entering journal entries to support equipment purchases and disposals, reporting/reviewing equipment and fuel metrics and support to full cycle accounts payable.

Responsibilities/Duties

· Participating in month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes (journal entries for equipment leases for bank reconciliation)

· Calculate fixed assets and depreciation.

· Maintain electronic filing of all equipment documents.

· Maintain fixed and capital asset schedule.

· Research discrepancies and process appropriate adjustments

· Assist in coordinating and preparing for internal and/or external audits.

· Year end schedule reconciliation for asset accounts

· Review, process and maintain contracts for leases.

· Adhere to the corporate policies and procedures in maintaining accounting standards.

· Perform special projects and other duties as required.

Skills and Abilities

· 1-3 years knowledge of book-keeping and accounts payable experience

· Strong knowledge of GAAP, and accounting fundamentals (debits and credits)

· Extensive experience with data entry, record keeping and computer operation.

· Construction industry exposure/experience a definite asset.

· Experience with accounting software, maestro would be an asset.

· Technical aptitude in working with Microsoft Office Suite (advanced skill with Excel)

· Ability to initiate and follow through on assignments with high attention to detail.

· Capacity to manage multiple simultaneous priorities, and work in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining a great attitude towards work.
