Your Role

We are seeking an experienced qualified, knowledgeable, detail -oriented and adaptable candidate to join our team as an Accountant. The employee will be responsible for the financial and administration including reporting, job costing, forecasting and day-to day transactions to ensure that the financial objectives are met, and accounting procedures are carried out. Able to discern information and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information pertaining to the company.

This is a full time on site role.

Reports to: Accounting Manager

Responsibilities:

  • Monthly review of job cost activity to ensure consistent and proper coding.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports, providing timely and accurate analysis of financial results and operating metrics
  • Preparing bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the general ledger structure for BECC Group of Companies
  • Create and maintain monthly balance sheet reconciliations, and ensure monthly closing entries are set up, and done correctly
  • Work closely as a team with Accounts Payable and Operations team members
  • Ensure compliance with local, provincial, and federal reporting requirements
  • Responsible for accurate and complete accounting records and preparation of all monthly, quarterly, and yearly remittances, filings, obligations, etc. as may be required
  • Review and interpret financial statements and operations to facilitate better upper management decision making
  • Develop and or improve on current financial and management reporting
  • Work with Company’s Accounting Manager to ensure a clean and timely year-end review, including preparation of information required to create annual financial statements and tax returns
  • Support management with special projects and workflow process improvements
  • Prepare cash flows and actively manage cash for projects
  • Develop, implement, and manage adequate internal control procedures
  • Perform monthly cost reviews along with project management teams and assist in developing Estimated Cost at completion (ECAC)
  • Support preparation of financial presentations & analyses for the leadership team
  • Perform other related duties as required

Qualifications/Experience requirements

  • B. Com or similar degree
  • CPA Designation or working towards it
  • Min 5 years of relevant accounting and finance experience in the construction/manufacturing industry
  • Excellent time-management skills
  • High attention to detail and ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering information and maintaining records
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills required, both oral and written. Willing to take responsibility and being held accountable for results
  • Good judgment skills and business acumen

Compensation

Competitive Salary

Salary range: 55-65K

Vacation: 3 weeks
