JOB BRIEF:

A Social media specialist Intern will establish an organization’s online presence and brand value by promoting the company and its products or services through the use of videos, photos, infographics or text posts on social media platforms. A Social Media Specialist is responsible for creating and administering content on all social media platforms, such as Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, to build an audience and ensure customer engagement. The Specialist may also monitor site metrics, respond to reader comments, and oversee creative design. As a social media specialist, you will focus on the logistics of delivering content to various social channels, such as managing a content calendar, writing copy, scheduling posts, etc.

A Social Media Specialist wants to see a social-media channel grow, measured by the amount of content published, when and how people engage with the channel, which content gets the most interaction, and how users respond to any brand messages.

We are looking for a talented social media manager to administer our social media accounts. You will manage our company image in a cohesive way to achieve our marketing goals. As a Social media specialist, we expect you to be up-to-date with the latest digital technologies and social media trends. You should have excellent communication skills and be able to express our company’s views creatively. Ultimately, you should be able to handle our social media presence ensuring high levels of web traffic and customer engagement.

Requirements and skills

  • Suggest and implement new features to develop brand awareness, like promotions and competitions
  • Stay up-to-date with current technologies and trends in social media, design tools and applications
  • Planning and developing social media campaigns

  • Assess, monitor, and implement website updates to increase leads and sales (b2b and b2c); develop landing pages; assist with developing/maintaining e-commerce & product catalogs
  • Facilitate online conversation and respond to inquiries
  • Provide project support as needed

  • Communicate effectively to all stakeholders including senior management and content developers

Requirements and Skills:

  • Passionate with strong ability for driving social media management
  • Knowledge of best practices for social media platforms such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.
  • Hands on experience in content management
  • Proven working experience in social media marketing or as a Digital Media Specialist
  • Excellent consulting, writing, editing (photo/video/text), presentation and communication skills
  • Demonstrable social networking experience and social analytics tools knowledge
  • Adequate knowledge of SEO
  • Knowledge of online marketing and good understanding of major marketing channels
  • Positive attitude, detail and customer oriented with good multitasking ability
  • Strong copywriting skills
  • Ability to deliver creative content (text, image and video)
  • Solid knowledge of SEO, keyword research and Google Analytics
  • Knowledge of online marketing channels
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written in English
  • Pursuing degree in marketing, digital marketing, internet marketing, Business, New Media or Public Relations or related field
  • Experience as a copywriter OR a content writing

Job Type: Internship / Co-op

Salary: From $13.26 per hour
