Refrigeration Engineer – Process Safety – All Offices

As part of an integrated project team, this refrigeration engineer will design food & beverage, pharma and biotech process systems. Located in in any of our Canadian offices this individual will report to the Lead Engineer.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate on the design and analysis of refrigeration plants and systems
• Perform CAD and drafting of refrigeration systems schematics and layouts in AutoCAD
• Conduct safety and code compliance audits
• Participate in the development of refrigeration related SOPs, HAZOPS and other safety analysis
• Conduct site inspections of refrigeration systems
• Write, format and proof-read specifications, proposals, reports, templates and other documents
• Understanding of methodology and ability to perform indoor/outdoor dispersion analysis hazard and risk assessments, development of standard operating procedures, bow tie analysis and other related hazard identification and mitigation techniques/processes
• Organize and maintain project records
• Collaborate with internal and external team members

Key Requirements:

• B.Sc. Engineering (Chemical/Mechanical) EIT/P.Eng.
• 1-3 years experience with process safety in the chemical or industrial refrigeration industry
• Knowledge and experience with ammonia
• Knowledge of refrigeration and piping codes and standards
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Ability to travel internationally
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license
• Knowledge of AutoCAD software packages including Plant 3D and P&ID is considered an asset
