Operations Supervisor

Reporting to the Edson Timberlands Operations Manager, the Operations Supervisor will work with a team of professionals to ensure the safe delivery of logs to our Edson Sawmill.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensure a high level of safety and environmental performance is maintained within our Harvest and Haul Contractor Workforce.
• Timber Harvest and Haul contract management/supervision
• Ensure harvesting is completed as per the expectations of plans and that log quality meets our specifications
• Forecast and track deliveries to meet inventory targets
• Ensure road and landuse approvals are in place for harvest/haul efficiency
• Liaison with government officials
• Work cooperatively with planning team and the manufacturing facilities
• Ensure harvesting meets SFI expectations

Requirements of a successful candidate:

• Strong commitment to safety leadership and environmental values
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Ability to register with College of Alberta Professional Foresters, or College of Alberta Professional Forest Technologists
• 3-7 years of forest industry experience would be an asset
