Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Job at Cardio Connect

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic LPN to join our team at Cardio Connect in St. Albert. We are offering an opportunity for a full-time temporary position with an immediate start date. This role will be to cover maternity leave with the possibility of obtaining permanent employment after the end of the maternity leave.

You will be joining our team of cardiac care professionals in a fast-paced, education-oriented, and growth-oriented environment. While experience in cardiac testing and assessment is a bonus, we will train the right candidate on nursing procedures and tasks. You will be part of an innovative and passionate team focused on improving the health of our community.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Clinical Practice:

- Assess the patient’s condition before and after procedures, document history and observations, and immediately notify the physician if the patient's condition is unstable.

- Perform vital signs and other clinical responsibilities such as ECG, Spirometry, Holter, and Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitors.

- Assist the physician in performing and evaluating the patient's response to Exercise Stress Tests.

- Conduct administrative duties such as patient booking, referrals, and follow-ups.

Leadership:

- Consistently communicate with other LPNs, team members and the physician to enhance the quality of patient care and ambulatory care activities.

- Collaborate on the development, planning and improvement of the nursing care plan.

- Participate in established educational strategies to promote, achieve and maintain optimum patient health outcomes.

- Ability to take the lead on projects, educational opportunities, and committees.

- Ability to seek out feedback on performance, set professional goals, and take constructive criticism as an opportunity to grow.

- Be an active participant in-clinic success.

Requirements:

- Active practice permit in good standing with CLPNA.

- Hold an active CPR certification

- Minimum one year of nursing experience in acute care, cardiology, emergency, or critical care.

- Current BLS, ACLS, immunization records and clear criminal record check.

- Excellent computer skills and experience with Netcare and use of EMRs.

Clinic hours are 07:45a-15:30p Monday through Friday (all stat days off), allowing for an outstanding work-life balance.
