General Job Description:

The Human Resources Manager, will share responsibility for all HR activities for both the Palmerston and Stratford locations. This position will focus on, but is not limited to, employee relations initiatives as well as recruitment, training, benefits and projects.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support, coach, counsel leaders and the HR Team in employee relations, legislative matters and assist in facilitating resolutions with all team members.
  • Lead the performance management and corrective action process.
  • Manage the recruitment function which includes establishing goals and objectives for direct reports, establishing KPIs, oversee the development of processes, testing and policies, and ensuring headcount budget is adhered.
  • Work with the AGM, Corporate Administration to determine overall objectives and goals for HR, along with reviewing policies and procedures for TG Minto.
  • Coach and mentor direct reports to achieve professional growth and development.

Supervisory Responsibility

Responsible for supervising:

  • HR Specialists for both locations.

Qualifications

Education or Experience

  • Post secondary education and designation in HR with a minimum of 5 years’ experience as at a minimum of a practicing generalist.
  • Previous supervisory experience is an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of applicable legislation in safety and employment.

Language Skills

  • The incumbent needs to demonstrate the ability to communicate ideas and information clearly to team members from all levels of the organization.

Other Skills and Abilities

  • The individual needs to have strong organizational skills and needs to demonstrate the ability to multi-task under potentially stressful conditions.
  • Working knowledge of such computer programs as Microsoft Excel, Word and Access.
  • Ability to support various shifts and to travel/drive to multiple sites.
