Responsibilities – Human Resource Manager

  • Oversee and supervise all aspects of the Human Resources department and manage the Human Resource team
  • Complete full cycle recruiting function for hourly and salaried staff positions including job postings, candidate sourcing, interviews and orientation for new employees.
  • Create, amend, and enforce company policies through a strong understanding of Employment Standards.
  • Support employee development and improvement through training.
  • Respond to all employee relations issues within the plant and engage excellent communication skills to help resolve issues in a fair and timely manner.
  • Complete all administration duties for HR department, training documentation, and any other required administration.
  • Provide advice, coaching/consulting on a variety of HR and business issues performance enhancement and issue prevention/resolution while ensuring compliance with all applicable employment laws, regulations and Company policies/procedures
  • Plan and execute plant functions such as quarterly plant lunches and other company events, and arrange participation in community initiatives.
  • Advise and support managers in performance management and employee relations matters.
  • Prepare pre-employment and new hire paperwork as per company and legislative requirements
  • Revise employee files to ensure complete and accurate information.
  • Determines applicant qualifications by interviewing applicants; analyzing responses; verifying references; comparing qualifications to job requirements.
  • Other duties as required

Education/Skill Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management and/or a related field is required
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience is required
  • CPHR designation/candidacy would be considered an asset
  • Previous supervisory work experience where exceptional attention to detail was required is strongly preferred.
  • Valid Minimum Class 5 Driver’s License is required
  • Fluent written and verbal English language abilities is essential
  • Previous experience in the abbatoire industry would be considered an asset
  • Intermediate Computer Application skills are required (Microsoft office including, word, outlook, and excel)

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $80,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
