Swan Lake Market & Garden is now hiring a Head Baker / Assistant Deli Manager .

Reporting to the Food Services manager, responsibilities for this position include: Following and refining bakery daily checklists, prep charts, recipes and costing. Working with POS system to manage inventory, conduct sales transactions and provide excellent customer service. We are looking for someone who is excited to ramp up production, explore baking alternatives, pursue merchandising and sales strategies and be creative with the myriad of seasonal offerings available at Swan Lake Market.

• You will be working with heat sources, mixers, slicers, proofers, and other equipment found in a deli/bakery.
• You will be adding a quality finish to baked items and packaged products.
• You will maintain proper storage, labelling and rotation of food products.
• Greet and answer customer questions, make recommendations, accept orders and payments, and providing exceptional customer service.
• Keeping records relating to inventory, and production levels.
• Cleaning and restocking workstations and ensuring that all equipment is sanitized and prepared for the next shift.
• Follow opening and closing procedures. Perform other duties as assigned.

Who you are:

• You are a seasoned baker with retail Deli/Bakery Operations experience Familiar with par baked products & application of proofers and ovens.
• You have an interest in gluten free recipes and a creative flare for seasonally relevant items
• Food Safe Certification.
• Must have excellent communication skills, be able to work efficiently in a team setting as well as independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Must have a strong work ethic. This is a physical job requiring the ability to stand for long periods of time and lift, push, pull up to 50 lbs. on occasion.
• Must be committed to a SAFE working environment.
• The ideal candidate will have open availability to work a variety of shifts, 5 days a week, including early mornings, afternoons and periodic weekends.
