The Friends is recruiting Independent Living Assistants (I.L.A.) in the Parry Sound area. If you are looking for meaningful work to make a difference in the lives of others, give us a call. I.L.A.'s provide service to individuals with physical disabilities and/or seniors by supporting them with personal care, activities of daily living and encouraging/facilitating client ability to live independently.

The Friends provide community support through a variety of programs. As an I.L.A. you will work with a diverse group of clients allowing you to develop a broad range of skills in your career development. Whether you work on-site in our housing program or visit individual client homes in the community, educational opportunities and a comprehensive on the job training program with our dedicated team will contribute to your success. Qualifications:

• interest/experience supporting seniors and adults with physical disabilities living in their own home with health care needs
• background/training in health related field is an asset but not necessary
• understanding of and commitment to independent living and client right to direct their own care
• excellent physical strength and stamina
• ability to work with direction and independently
• strong verbal and written communication skills
• sound judgement and discretion in confidential matters
• reliable vehicle

• Sanitizing, disinfecting, or cleaning procedures in place

All staff and clients are required to wear masks and abide by Public Health guidelines. Protective equipment is provided.

Part-time hours: 10-37 per week

Salary: $22.00-$25.00 per hour
