About us: Royal Door Ltd. began in 1975, when, in an artisan workshop, designing a whole new line of exterior wood doors to suit a variety of styles and tastes using true mortise and tenon construction. Royal Door also became the first company to offer full thickness panels on exterior doors to deal with the harsh climate found in Ontario. These innovations have set the standard for today’s wood door industry. Royal door quickly moved from a small workshop to a large manufacturing plant in Concord. Along with that growth, came the production of high end exterior and interior doors.

About the Position: Royal Door Limited is an Ontario based manufacturer of solid wood doors since 1975. For 47 years, we have prided ourselves in the quality of the products that we produce, and we are now looking for an experienced wood worker to join our team to assist with our growth.

Responsibilities

· Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials

· Fit and install trim items, such as doors, moulding and hardware

· Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements.

· Operate basic woodworking machinery such as skill saw, table saw, wood joiner and wood planner.

· Lifting of materials upwards of 75lbs.

Qualifications

· Completion of a two- to three-year apprenticeship program or 3 years of relevant trade experience

· Two years experience installing hinges, handles, doors and other accessories

·

· Able to operate basic woodworking machinery such as skill saw, table saw, wood joiner and wood planner.

· Able to use a tape measure and add/subtract fractions as required throughout the manufacturing process.

· Must have 2 years experience identifying different types of woods (raw materials) and sorting based on colour and grade.
