TWS Laborer--3 positions Job at Shxwowhamel Ventures
SVLP provides a safe and secure working environment throughout the course of every active construction project. The Laborer will work under the supervision of the General Manager to assist with construction projects.
Job duties include:
- Provide general maintenance on construction sites and buildings.
- Be willing to learn and develop new construction trades skills and on the job experience
- Capable of safely operating a variety of small equipment and tools
- Provide excellent communication skills and be a great team player.
- General construction, landscaping, and grounds maintenance experience
- This position involves continuous heavy physical work in all weather conditions.
- Work conditions and physical capabilities; repetitive tasks, handling heavy loads
- Load, unload transport construction materials
- Assist with construction site prep
- Direct traffic at or near construction sites
Eligible participants:
- Must be First Nations/Inuit, Status/Non-Status, reside on or off-reserve, within the SASET Catchment area
- Must be 18 years of age or older (not currently in school)
- Long term unemployed (3 months or more)
- No longer required by law to attend school
- Participants may have marketable skills but lack work experience in the area in which the work experience and/or training will occur
- Not be receiving other Service Canada supports funding
- All Service Canada Personal Information Forms (PIFS) and Client Consent Forms CC’s) must be submitted prior to commencement of the program
