What can I expect to do in this role?

In this role you will:

  • Lead project teams in program evaluation and business improvement initiatives
  • Plan the design and implementation of policy related projects, monitoring and managing project objectives and deliverables
  • Provide strategic advice to senior management to support the development and sustainability of strategic plans
  • Provide advice, information, support and consultation services to ministry staff and external stakeholders on policy related issues
  • Demonstrate your knowledge of financial policy frameworks, health economics, statistical analysis, risk assessment and policy development
  • Prepare and present analysis/reports to senior management


How do I qualify?

Leadership and Project Management Skills:

  • You have demonstrated leadership of multi-disciplinary teams in complex program evaluation, business improvement initiatives, and policy related projects
  • You have demonstrated knowledge and experience in developing strategic advice and providing expertise on program evaluation, policies, and process improvement
  • You are able to monitor large scale projects and ensure timely delivery of key objectives
  • You have knowledge of project management methodology to provide planning on concurrent projects


Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills:

  • You are able to use strategic thinking, conceptual, analytical, and problem solving skills to identify, develop, and recommend options/solutions to complex problems
  • You have effective analytical skills to evaluate performance metrics, process improvement practices, and risk assessments
  • You are able to develop policies/procedures for tracking, measuring, and reporting on the impact of decisions
  • You are able to interpret/assess both qualitative and quantitative information in developing policy proposals
  • You have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to evaluate processes and develop process improvement recommendations


Consultation and Interpersonal Skills:

  • You have effective team leadership skills to oversee and guide work of assigned teams and foster positive working relationships
  • You have excellent relationship management and partnership skills to initiate and maintain working relationships across the Ministry and all levels of the organization
  • You have strong advisory and consultation skills to provide policy expertise in support of ministry/provincial strategic directions and development
  • You have excellent oral and written communication skills to prepare and present responses, recommendations, reports, analysis, and briefing materials


Business Knowledge:

  • You have demonstrated knowledge of financial policy frameworks, health economics, statistical analysis, risk assessment and policy development
  • You have demonstrated knowledge of economic and statistical analysis techniques, research principles and quantitative/qualitative methodologies
  • You are proficient with standard office software to prepare own materials
