The Opportunity:
We are currently seeking a Supervisor, Production (Control Room) to join our Totten Mine team in Sudbury, Ontario. This is a permanent position.

As a Supervisor, Production (Control Room) you will continuously improve the work team performance through the effective use of established processes and procedures in achieving assigned objectives. Improve the effectiveness of the front-line team while meeting the business objectives. This includes ensuring the completion of assigned work with consistency and accuracy.

Additionally, in this position you will:

  • Work on a rotation schedule (5/4 days and nights, 12-hour shifts).
  • Hold the team accountable for safety, behavior, housekeeping, teamwork, and professionalism.
  • Supervise the execution of planned work in and around the shaft as well as support the process.
  • Carry out tasks as assigned by the Superintendent or his/her designate to achieve the desired results within an agreed-upon timeline and end state.
  • Work within budget, guidelines, and standards to execute Safety and Execution Plans as established by the Superintendent or his/her designate.
  • Foster a climate of safety, mutual trust, and respect among all members of his/her team.
  • Work collectively with peers and cross-functionally with colleagues in engineering, geology, maintenance, and services to achieve the objectives of the mine.

About You

Education:

  • Grade 12 level education or GED equivalency is required.
  • First Line Underground Mine Supervisor Common Core or 770120 Common Core for First Line Production Supervisor Underground Hard Rock Mining and 770010 Underground Hard Rock Miner Common Core.


Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of related experience.
  • Control room experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience leading crews.
  • SAP and Excel experience is preferred.


Skills:

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and work well with others in a team environment.
  • Must have strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Must be obsessed with safety and risk.
  • Must demonstrate open and transparent dialogue in all aspects of work.
