  • Office Administration certificate or equivalent office experience;
  • Successful completion of advanced level Excel course or equivalent advanced level knowledge;
  • A minimum of two (2) years recent experience in a scheduling environment, preferably in health
care;
  • Payroll knowledge and experience an asset;
  • Experience working with different union contracts and ability to apply the scheduling language
appropriately;
  • Comprehensive knowledge and use of MS Office, Staff Scheduling software, Intranet;
  • Knowledge of collective agreements (ONA, UNIFOR, OPSEU) and related hospital policies and
procedures;
  • Satisfactory attendance.

  • Demonstrated conflict resolution skills and experience;
  • Ability to work independently with very little supervision;
  • Demonstrated ability to present data in an organized professional manner;
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize workload demands and meet deadlines;
  • Proficient keyboarding skills with a demonstrated knowledge of Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet/Intranet functions;
  • Demonstrated knowledge and use of equipment used in an office environment.(Fax, copier, etc.);
-Excellent interpersonal and interdepartmental communication skills- listening, verbal and written;
  • Recognizes and respects need for strict confidentiality;
  • Demonstrated ability to support and embrace the philosophy of Service Excellence and Patient and Family Centred Care;
  • Demonstrated participation in building a culture of safety and partnering with others to improve the safety of patient care processes and systems;
  • Demonstrated performance reflecting the Mission, Vision, Values and Code of Conduct of Chatham-Kent Health Alliance.

ACCOUNTABILITIES (Major Responsibilities of the Position)
  • Documents call-ins and in collaboration with the unit, determines whether or not a replacement staff is needed;
  • Completes calls for long term and/or short call staffing needs to meet unit needs;
  • Responsible for ensuring accuracy in StaffRight to ensure payroll is complete and accurate;
-Responsible for assisting with StaffRight data entry including, but not limited to, entering of accurate payroll codes, assignment changes, responsibility person assignment, mutual requests, individual requests for vacation, stat, and lieu time, LOA requests, sick time, bereavement, entering modified work plans - assuring modified and paid hours are correct;
  • Ensures the provisions of the ONA, OPSEU, and UNIFOR Collective Agreements are adhered to.

As a condition of employment, you are required to submit proof of COVID-19 vaccination to the Hospital’s Occupational Health and Safety department.
