Your opportunity:

The David L. MacIntosh Sport Medicine Clinic provides services to students, other members of the University, and the public, including, but not limited to, intercollegiate and international-caliber athletes. The staff of the Clinic provides preventive and therapeutic sport medicine services at the clinic and at athletic venues and events. The clinic staff provide patient care as part of a multi-disciplinary team that includes certified athletic therapists, registered physical therapists, registered sport massage therapists, sport physicians, orthopedic surgeons, receptionists and a clinic manager. Under the general supervision of the Head Therapist and the Clinic Manager, the incumbent will provide Clinical Therapy Services and Intercollegiate Team Care.

Your responsibilities will include:

• 
  Providing physical health counselling to patients on their injury, prognosis and proposed treatment
• Providing physical health assessments and treatments in accordance with professional standards
• Recommending preventative measures and evaluating risk factors to ensure safety
• Assessing, selecting and fitting appropriate physical braces, adhesive taping or orthopaedic appliances based on client's needs
• Providing on-field triage and support to medical professionalsas required
• Coordinating patient care with advanced care medical professionals
• Serving as a resource for AT, PT and KPE students

Essential Qualifications:

• 
  Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience. Maintained status in the Canadian Athletic Therapist Association; maintained status in the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario; valid certification as a first responder.
• Minimum three years as an athletic therapist and massage therapist in a multi-disciplinary sport medicine clinic and/or a clinic specializing in musculo-skeletal health care.
• Experience in sport field care at an elite or high performance level is required.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
• Strong organizational, teamwork and interpersonal skills are required.
• Knowledge of applicable medical software.

Assets (Nonessential):

• 
  Postgraduate professional development courses in a variety of neuro-musculo-skeletal therapeutic techniques within an athletic therapist and massage therapist scope-of-practice.

Pay Scale Group & Hiring Zone:
USW Pay Band 12 - $71,842 with an annual step progression to a maximum of $91,875. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
