Job Title: Research Assistant – CATE Working Conference on Research in Teacher Leadership

Department: Faculty of Education

Wage or Salary: $18.54/hr

Hours of Work: 18 hours biweekly Monday to Friday (flexible hours)

Duties:

Under the direct supervision of conference organizer, facilitate preparation for a small Working Conference in Brandon
  • maintain efficient records and email communication with applicants, conference participants, speakers and volunteers
  • assist with practical arrangements for conference including IT, facilities and materials
  • arrange catering for meals and refreshments
  • Conduct a review of literature on teacher leadership
  • Identify themes and publications in recent literature on the topic of teacher leadership
  • Prepare an annotated bibliography from the findings and other duties as assigned

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Current M. Ed. student or graduate student in a related discipline with relevant experience preferred, third-fourth year undergraduate student may be considered
  • Strong organizational skills and competent with Word, Excel, Power Point, Google Drive and Outlook
  • Excellent written and oral English, French an asset
  • Interest in research, teacher education, collaborative writing, and leadership
  • To be able to liaise on site in the lead up to the conference
  • The successful applicant will be invited to attend the Fall Working Conference and will be acknowledged in conference materials and the resulting edited book
