SENIOR GEOPHYSICIST

Location– Aurora, Ontario

Position– Full Time

The successful candidate will have an extensive background in geophysics, with a specialization in electromagnetics. They will understand the theoretic and practical aspects of airborne geophysical survey technologies, in particular electromagnetics, and also potential field and radiometric data acquisition, processing and interpretation. They will be involved in problem solving. They will understand and verify the quality of airborne geophysical datasets. Successful candidates will communicate well at all levels, convey information fluently and be comfortable with client interactions. The job may require some travel including international locations. They may require direct communication with clients (written and oral).

Responsibilities:

· Perform quality control, verification, and processing of airborne geophysical data

· Review airborne geophysical data and perform geological interpretation.

· Work daily with commercial and proprietary Geophysical software

· Prepare time sensitive technical reporting of survey results to clients

· Review and understand project specifications

· Close collaboration with R& D and Sales & Marketing staff

· Prepare geophysical reports and case studies

Required Education & Experience:

· Advanced Degree in Geophysics (M.Sc. or Ph.D)

· Professional Geoscience Accreditation (P.Geo or P.Eng)

· Minimum 10 years experience in mineral exploration geophysics

· Expertise in Electromagnetic, Magnetic, Radiometric and Gravity survey methods

· Computer fluency, especially with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook

· Extensive Experience with Geosoft Oasis mapping and data processing platform

· Geophysical data analysis and report writing

· Superior English verbal and written communication skills

· Expertise in 1D, 2D and 3D geophysical inversions and their application

· Programming in Python, Fortran or other programming languages an asset
