The Role:
As a Senior Developer in Rakuten Kobo’s R&D team, we look forward to benefitting from your years’ of experience and expertise in technology delivery and your influence over the continued evolution and enhancement of Kobo’s Payments systems.
Responsibilities:
- Building and delivering quality software for our users that produce systems that are both reliable and observable
- Propose designs and Proof of Concepts to Architecture team and work with the team to deliver the implementation to Production
- Be an owner of your systems: put in place key metrics and alerts that will ensure the health of the systems and business.
- Participate in code reviews; happy to give and receive constructive feedback
- Communicate clearly and effectively with teammates, Business stakeholders and other development teams in Kobo
- Mentor our junior team members, ensuring their continued growth
The Skillset:
Required:
- Computer Science or Computer Engineering Degree (or equivalent experience)
- Ability to communicate effectively within and outside of core team
- Several years’ experience developing in .NET Stack (C#)
- SOLID Principles and Practices, IoC & TDD
- Strong understanding of database technologies: SQL & NoSQL
- Experience with service bus technology e.g. NServiceBus, RabbitMQ
- Experience with modern JavaScript and CSS frameworks
- Experience with common tool such as Git, Jenkins
Nice to Haves:
- Working in an Agile environment and team
- Past Scrum Master or Team Lead experience
- Docker, Solr, Kubernetes
- Test automation using Selenium Webdriver
- Knowledge of Ruby or other scripting languages
- Experience in Payment Systems
